Review: Set in Cleveland, this book reflects a mix of genres. It's your basic book about a journalist who has learned too much for his own good, except there are dragons, elves, unicorns, and "fuzzy gnomes" running around in it, too.
The dragons in this book don't play a main character, but they play a larger role in the story than, let's say, McCaffrey's books. Aloeus, the main dragon in the book, is dead before the book ever begins, and the other dragon plays a minor role. The main character is Kline Maxwell, a political reporter.
While Swann unviels a new look at dragons in this book, the characters are relatively flat. Next to that, the book is a decent read, as it has a great plot. There are many twists and turns in the plot, which makes it worth every page. A warning: Don't read it quickly, or you might miss out on something. You can probably guess the end if you stop, put down the book, and thing about it for awhile, but the book is awefully hard to put down.
