DragonHeart II

Directors: Doug Lefler
Movie Rating: PG
Review: I've seen this movie more than I have seen the first. I was surprised that they would go back against their "last of the dragon" plot. Here, the dragon Drake (which shows how much they researched about the topic) has been hidden for quite some time. He's still young and has not been trained to fly, breathe fire, or any dragon-like thing.

I won't ruin the "surprise" ending for you. I will only tell you that this movie is much like the first: a bland plot line with sterotyped characters. There is the kind (but stupid) king, the evil advisor, and the poor stable boy who wants to be a knight. Drake is the lonely dragon, the last of his kind, trying to bond with a brother.

This is, as I think it, better than the first. It has the same basic dragon theme - where dragons can give their heart to anyone - and has a more varied cast. It's not perfect, and it is a bit corny, but worth at least watching once.
