Irrasemblance
Right before she was able to pass into death, the great peace, the creature ensnared her. She was tormented and reduced to a ghost-skeleton...left to meander the battle field alone. However, the creature did not leave her without giving her advice:
"Now, Irrasemblance, go out and find one place, and only one, to claim as your haunt. If you do not, you will never find a good capture. Do not make yourself too known, for if the hunters banish you to nothingness, you will not die. You will simply cease to exist. You ability to hone in on those who would make good captures will come...with time. This is your punishment, pass it to another who deserves it."
With that, it faded and left her to herself. She was bitter, hateful, and rageful. She torn through the battle field, trying to find any victim to replace. But, sadly, they were all gone. How could she deserve to die? Had she not saved lives?
In the end, however, she realized what she had done, and decided to reside elsewhere. There was just one other thing that the creature had said before it passed into death.
"If you wait for more than one hundred years, you shall never be able to pass into death, unless you have learned."
It did not tell her what she had to learn, but she knew she could not wait a hundred years. She had to find someone. Then she decided to find a haunt - a local town with a huge bell tower.
The bell tower, she thought, would bring many sinners to her. After all, the bell tower was a place for Penance to be delt with publicly. What she did not anticipate, however, was that she could not even attempt to claim the life of someone who was repenting...and those were all that came before the bell tower. It was too late, however, she had already claimed a haunt and was forced to stay there for the next hundred years...
