Guards! Guards! |

Author: Terry Pratchett
Review: As a part of Discworld, Pratchett tells the story about swamp dragons, a noble dragon, and his main charaters of the Guard. This is Carrot's entry into Night Watch, as well as the unfolding of an evil plot to take over Ankh-Morpork. Carrot is a huge dwarf (he was adopted) who joined the Night Watch believing that he could make a difference, and he does.
The book's humor makes it run quickly, despite the fact that there are no chapter breaks. The book is one solid, flowing story about the summoning of a dragon, which some evil denizens believe will help the overtake the city. Pratchett is known for his Discworld novels, and this is perhaps his best of them.
The swamp dragons are quite charming in this novel, as are several of the othr characters. Madam Ramkin is the caretaker of these dragons, which had many stomach problems. Unlike most books, dragons don't play a secondary role in the book.
For people who appreciate fantasy humor, this book is entertaining. Those who have liked Pratchett's other works will love this.
