Many people on the internet are lazy and want to make a web page. They thus steal information from other people, copying the words exactly, and they do not give credit. I am trying to prevent this from happening for several reasons.
The first is so that we can find the real, authentically made sites that are not only good but present new ideas. This would make the internet a lot more interesting! Not to mention, it makes citing resources much easier if the information isn't scattered across the web in multiple sources with no indication of which one is the original. The second being that this is called theft. They steal the information and take credit for it. This is called plagiarism.
If I could, I would make a listing of all the offending pages, but there is no way for me to find all of them. (I found about five on Google looking for research for this web site. Sickening, eh?)
People do not put their hard work on the internet for it to be stolen. They put it on the internet to share their views and ideas as well as spread information. No one has any right to copy words exactly, unless the writer gives them written permission. Obviously, writers will quote and credit authors for research reasons but that situation includes credit.
Please prevent Dragon Theft of all kinds, not just graphics!
